Those looking for a restaurant with great food, an enjoyable atmosphere and an excellent waiting staff should visit Cherry Street’s new addition, Genghis Grill, located on 15th Street across from Panera Bread.

Upon stepping across the threshold, customers are greeted promptly and led inside. No need for extensive menus here; the only things guests need are the metal bowls the servers pass out and a little culinary imagination.

The waiter leads each party to a short line, where they explain the simple process of piling as much fresh meat, fruit, vegetables and spices as will fit in the dish.

The array of choices will have guests’ mouth watering (do not worry; it is okay to stare).

After mixing and matching everything from chicken and mandarin oranges to beef and green peppers, guests’ creations are handed over to the cooks, who grill it to perfection and blend it with the sauces of your choice.

Dessert is available for after the hearty meal, but be ready. Most of them are rich and dreamy—a task fit for more than just one hungry barbarian.

The entire process of procuring food takes no more than 10 minutes, leaving lots of time to take in the surroundings. A large gong looms in the entrance, bamboo trims the corners and a sign in the bathroom declares “All warriors must wash hands before returning to battle!”

The staff is amiable, making suggestions and checking on tables with impeccable precision. And the prices are reasonable to boot. A full meal, drink included, costs under $15.
