The Counseling and Psychological Services Center offers a broad range of professional, educational, and clinical services to all students, faculty, and staff.  We are trained to help college students adjust to the changes and transitions of college life as well as to help faculty and staff function more effectively in their roles.  The staff is devoted to helping with any concerns that might require psychological assistance such as:

SERVICES OFFERED:  Counseling/Psychotherapy (individual, couples, family).  Assessment (intellectual, cognitive, behavioral, personality, psychopathology).  Consultation, and referral.

CONFIDENTIALITY: All contacts at the counseling center are strictly confidential as protected by law and professional ethics.

ELIGIBILITY FOR SERVICES:  University students, employees, and members of their immediate families are eligible for services. (In the event of a waiting list, students have top priority.) Alumni and prospective students may be seen on an individually arranged basis.

FEES: Services are supported by Student Development funds. The only fee that a client may be asked to pay individually is a nominal charge for scoring of some tests.

APPOINTMENTS:  Provisions are made for anyone requesting to be seen immediately (Use the words "crisis" or "emergency" to indicate such a need).  However, professional services are usually by appointment and can be arranged either in person or by calling 631-2200.

HOURS:  The center is open 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Appointments may be made either in person or by phone by calling 631-2200. In the event of a crisis after regular hours, call on-campus Security at 631-5555, and leave your name and telephone number. Our Counselor on call will contact you. Twenty-four-hour back-up crisis counseling is also available by calling 588-8888.

STAFF:  The Center is staffed by two Licensed Health Service Psychologists and by advanced graduate level interns and practicum trainees who work under direct supervision of the psychologists.
