Outside Undergraduate Scholarships

v    Accounting Scholarships

Award: The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Accountemps are delighted to announce the 2008 AICPA/Accountemps Student Scholarship award; $2,500 to five recipients.

Eligibility: Pursuit of a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems.

v Albert K. Murray Fine Arts Educational Fund

Award: Grants available.

Eligibility: Students must be US citizens.  Applicants must be registered as a full time student in an art degree program for the term a grant is received and may be at the bachelor's, master's, or doctoral level. 

Due Date: End of September grants (applications due July 31), end of December grants (applications due October 31), end of March grants (applications due January 31), and end of June grants (applications due April 30).

v American Chemical Society Scholars Program

Award: Approximately 100 scholarships.  The scholarship is valued at up to $2,500 per academic year for freshmen, and up to $3,000 per academic year for sophomores, juniors, and seniors.

Eligibility: Students interested in four-year degrees in the chemical sciences; those interested in transferring from two-year colleges to four-year colleges to pursue chemical sciences degrees and high school seniors who will be entering college.

 

v    American Indians in Health Professions

Preparatory Scholarship Program - Provides financial assistance to Federally or State recognized American Indian or Alaska Native Students enrolled full or part-time in a compensatory/pre-professional general education course or curriculum, that will prepare them for acceptance into a health profession.  Must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in one of the following priority career categories: Pre-Dietetics, Pre-Engineering, Pre-Medical Technology, Pre-Nursing, Pre-Pharmacy, Pre-Physical Therapy, or Pre-Social Work.


Pre-Graduate Scholarship Program -
Provides financial assistance to Federally or State recognized American Indian or Alaska Native Students enrolled full or part-time in courses leading to a bachelor's degree in specific pre-professional areas.  Must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in one of the following priority career categories: Pre-Medicine or Pre-Dentistry.

 

Health Professions Scholarship Program - Provides financial assistance to Federally or State recognized American Indian or Alaska Native Students enrolled full or part-time in courses for specific health professions.  This program requires a service obligation and/or payback requirement that the recipient incurs upon acceptance of the scholarship funding.

v    Camp Ramapo for Children Counselor Positions for Summer

Due Date:  Employment is from June 18 through August 18, 2007.  Must be available for all 9 weeks.

Award: Conducts an on-site college course (6 semester hours) that can be credited in one of the following disciplines: Education, Special Education, Educational Psychology, Therapeutic Recreation, Group Dynamics, Outdoor Recreation, Physical Education, Recreation, Camp Counseling, or Community Service.  Counselors are offered a salary, room and board, and limited travel reimbursement.

v Cox Connects Education Scholarships

Award: Up to 18 $2500 one-year scholarships are available.

Eligibility: Students must live in the Cox Tulsa metro service area and plan to attend a Tulsa-area college in the fall of 2007.  New high school graduates and current undergraduates must have at least a 3.0 GPA and meet financial need criteria.

Due Date: Application deadline is April 6th.

v    Delta Kappa Gamma Society International

Eligibility:  College junior or senior women for the 2007-2008 year; education major; bonafide resident of Tulsa County (an exception can be made for the daughter of a member of the Tulsa County Delta Kappa Gamma Chapter).

Award: $500 recruitment grant.

v    Desk and Derrick Educational Trust Scholarships

Eligibility:  Students must have completed at least two years or are currently enrolled in the second year of undergraduate studies, maintain a GPA of 3.2 or above, demonstrate need for financial assistance in pursuing a college degree, be a US or Canadian citizen, and plan a career in petroleum, energy, or allied industry, or research and development of alternative fuels such as coal, electric, solar, wind hydroelectric, nuclear, and ethanol.

Award: Thirteen $1500 scholarship grants are available.

Eligibility: Funded by a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, was established in 1999 to provide outstanding African Americans, American Indian/Alaska Natives, Asian Pacific Islanders Americans, and Hispanic American students with an opportunity to complete an undergraduate college education, in all discipline areas and a graduate education for those students pursuing studies in mathematics, science, engineering, education, or library science.

Eligibility:  Applicants must be graduating high school seniors who plan to attend full-time during the upcoming academic year.  A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, financial need, and commitment to community service are eligibility requirements.

Due Date:  Graduating seniors application submission deadline is March 3, 2008 and all other students application submission deadline is April 15, 2008.

Eligibility:  Son or daughter of a Marine on active duty or in the Reserve, retired, or deceased; son or daughter of a Marine or Marine Reservist who has received an Honorable Discharge, Medical Discharge, or who has killed while in the service of our country; the son or daughter of an active duty, reserve, or former US Navy Corpsman who is serving or has served, with the US Marine Corps... Award: Awards up to $3.5 million in undergraduate scholarships for veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan starting in the spring 2008 term. Full-time and part-time students are eligible. The awards, which may be renewed for following academic year, are intended to cover financial need not met by need-based grants and military education benefits.
