Skills Required to Perform the Position:   The essential criteria for this position is to enjoy preschool-aged children and have a desire to help them develop literacy skills.  Volunteers read books for one hour a week, one-on-one, with children in area childcare centers and four-year old and kindergarten programs.  Volunteers typically read with two children, from infancy through age six, for 30 minutes each, at least once a week.

Duties of the Position:  Evaluate and recommend hardware and software solutions.  Configure and install PC’s, peripherals and software * Windows XP, Printers and Microsoft Office.  Administer LAN by setting up new users as well as backups and maintenance * Novell Netware, Windows Server 2003 and SQL Server 2000.  Work with users to troubleshoot and solve problems with PC’s and software packages.  Write user procedures, application and network documentation.  Contact technical support personnel and vendors for purchasing concerns, technical information, maintenance and repair service needs.

Skills Required to Perform the Position:   Graduation from accredited college or university with an associates degree or sixty college credit hours in computer science or other related fields.  Knowledge of PC’s, LANs, operating systems and software applications; knowledge of troubleshooting hardware and software techniques; good organization skills; the ability to courteously and tactfully communicate with fellow workers and the public.

Duties of the Position:   Provide companionship to the patient with or without the caregiver present.  This could include talking with the patient, facilitating life review, reading to the patient, watching television, sitting quietly with the patient, assisting with meals, or playing games.  All visits to patients are documented describing the activities done, a brief description of patient status, and time spent, including driving time.

Skills Required to Perform the Position:   Ability to pass drug screening, criminal background check, and driving record checks; ability to listen and communicate well; desire to be of service to individuals experiencing a loss; a commitment to the philosophy of hospice care; respect for confidentiality; the willingness to learn concepts related to death, dying and grieving.

Duties of the Position:   Assistant to the Manager of the Food 4 Kids Program, organizing, communicating, preparation and tracking.  The Food 4 Kids Program provides a weekly backpack full of shelf-stable nutritious food during the school year to children identified by their school as lacking sufficient food over the weekend when free or reduced-cost school breakfast and lunch are not available.

Skills Required to Perform the Position:   Must be at least 18 years of age.  Organization, communication skills, flexibility, utilizing initiative, listening to and following through with directions, work well with groups of volunteers, ability to handle some strenuous work (such as lift and carry boxes up to 30 lbs. and use a hand pallet jack)
