Duties of the Position:     Working with library materials - shifting, shelving, sorting, shelf reading, checking items in and out; answering the telephone; helping library patrons; making change; maintaining confidentiality of library records; and special projects.  Night and/or weekend work will be required. 

 

Skills Required to Perform the Position:   Must be able physically to lift, carry, and shelve books and push a heavy library cart.  Must know or be able to learn library classification systems.  Must be able to communicate effectively.

Skills Required to Perform the Position:  Must be able to shelve books, lift heavy boxes over one's head, push a heavy library cart.

Duties of the Position:   Assist administrative staff with day-to-day operations of McFarlin Library.  Duties to include overseeing use of Faculty Study and general office duties including basic correspondence, filing, copying, campus deliveries, management of supplies, and other duties throughout the library as needed.

Skills Required to Perform the Position:  Basic computer skills, general knowledge of campus, ability to work on own with instructions.  Requires ability to move furniture, if necessary.  May require occasional work prior to 8:00 am or after 5:00 pm.

Recommended Student Classification Level:  Level 1
