This workshop, prepared and presented by professional librarians with many years experience in assisting graduate students, will give you the information you need to get the most out of the library, its print and electronic resources, and its many services.  The McFarlin Library Survival Guide™ to Thesis or Dissertation Research will improve the efficiency of your research and the quality of your thesis or dissertation, while at the same time lowering your stress level and your need for high doses of caffeine.

The purpose of this workshop is to help you:

• identify the library research databases most relevant to your research on science or engineering topics,

• improve your database searching skills,

• increase your chances of getting the off-campus research materials you need using Interlibrary Loan,

• take the drudgery out of research and writing with EndNote, the best friend your bibliography ever had,

• and meet your personal librarian (the liaison to your department or college).
