Life Skills Workshops |
Sponsored by The Graduate School
Most
students and professionals are eager to move forward in their life to the new
challenges and experiences of a career. This workshop examines how to manage
your degree program in order to stay on track academically and how to most
effectively use your time while in Graduate School. It will also discuss the
skills that will assist you in the timely completion of your degree, as well as
the successful management of your future career.
The
purpose of this workshop is to:
help you understand the typical steps required to complete a graduate degree.
explain the six year "Statute of Limitations" and the average time required to complete a graduate degree.
discuss the differences between non-thesis as well as thesis and dissertation programs and the expectations of each type of degree program.
explore what to expect from your faculty advisors and what they expect from you at each stage of your degree program.
Janet
Haggerty, Dean of the Graduate School, and Richard Redner, Associate
Dean, invite you to join them for
this important discussion.
