All students at TU are issued a photo ID card with magnetic strips. Your ID card will be your passport to meals in the dining facilities, library access, door access to your housing area and serves as your general information card. Proper handling of this card is very important. Treat it as you would a credit card or your driver's license. It is valuable. Keep your card away from magnets and heat. If coding is destroyed, you need to return your card to the University ID/Parking Office or Housing & Dining Services to be re-encoded. The campus student ID card should be carried at all times and should be presented to university personnel upon request.

ID Cards
Meal plans and ID cards are not transferable to other people. Only those to whom the card is issued are to use it for access to the dining facilities or buildings. Board rates are established and based on the statistical fact that the average student will attend only a certain percentage of meals served. If meal plans were transferable, prices would have to be increased to cover the increased cost of attendance. Improper use of the card is subject to university disciplinary action and a $25 fine.

Lost, Stolen or Damaged Cards
Students who temporarily misplace an ID card, but feel certain it can be found within a short period of time, should be prepared to pay cash for meals eaten without the ID. Obtain a receipt from the cashier, and when the ID is located or replaced, take the ID and receipts to the cashier in the facility where the receipt was issued for reimbursement of cash meal costs.

Card owners are responsible for reporting lost ID cards promptly. Notify the University ID/Parking Center in Twin Towers Hall immediately, and a new ID card will be issued so that your access to buildings and dining service will continue without interruption. You are responsible for all transactions made by you or by anyone else who uses your Card, even if lost. However, to minimize loss, a $20 per day spending limit has been established via the computer for all vending locations. The ID/Parking Center can instantly change the account number, and thus protect the account from unauthorized use. A replacement charge will be assessed for lost, stolen, or damaged ID cards. If a card is lost after 5:00 p.m. or on the weekend, report the missing card to any open dining location or the University dispatcher (631-5555). For your safety, all dining locations can place a hold on your ID card thus protecting any money on your account. Once the ID/Parking Center re-opens, a new card can be issued and the hold removed. TU is not responsible for cash balances on lost cards. The charge for replacement cards is $15.
