Ethernet Connections
All University housing with the exception of Gary Place Apartments are provided with computer access to the Internet through the use of ethernet ports. To activate this service:
- Purchase an ethernet cable from the Campus Computer Store in McFarlin Library.
- Plug cord into the wall and your network card.
- Call Information Services Help Desk at 631-3500 to if your port doesn't appear to be working.
- Contact the Information Services Help Desk (631-3500) to help you configure your ethernet settings.
Cable Service
All University housing with the exception of Gary Place Apartments are provided with Cox cable expanded basic television service, featuring a broad array of educational and entertainment programming, will be active in your room / apartment upon arrival. Any cable ready television set (minimum 60 channel capacity) with a standard coaxial connection may be plugged in immediately. No converter boxes are required, but you should bring your TV owner's manual to help program cable channels on your set. The following channels are provided:

Direct TV/Satellite Systems (apartments only) Students living in the University Square Village apartments wishing to install Direct TV/Satellite system must complete a University Registration and Use Agreement with the Apartment Office, located at the University Square Clubhouse and must obtain written approval prior to installation. Satellite dishes cannot be installed on any roof or attached to any exterior wall or porch/balcony area. The University is not responsible for any equipment that is damaged or stolen. Students residing in Mayo Village, Brown Village or the new apartment and townhouses are not permitted to install Direct TV/Satellite system.
