What are some typical FYRE activities?
As a participant in the FYRE program, you will have the opportunity to get involved in numerous activities such as:
- Educational Opportunities:
- First-Year Residential Experience Office - The FYRE Office is the place where you can go for answers to questions, advice and/or support that you need throughout your first year at TU.
- Attend presentations - on topics such as personaltiy types, study skills, time management, resumé writing, and campus resources.
- The FYRE Place - The official FYRE Newsletter is distributed to all first-year students living in Twin South throughout the academic year. This publication highlights campus events and provides tips on how to prepare for and successfully complete your first year of college.
- Social Opportunities:
- FYRE Side Chats - Also known as the Coffee House, this is a great time to come out, relax and get to know some of the other residents of Twin South while enjoying coffee, tea and various assorted pastries.
- Friday Afternoon Club - Social and educational events held every Friday afternoon.
- TU's annual Homecoming Festivities - Activities include Yard Dec competitions, cookouts, and concerts.
- Sporting activities - including intramural sports, broomball, lasertag, bowling, and ultimate frisbee.
- Social events throughout the year - Some past activities have included semi-pro athletic events, cookouts, campus fine arts events, hall socials, and campus sporting events.
