Room changes are permitted within the residence halls, with the exception of certain freeze periods (the first week and last few weeks of each semester or during high occupancy periods). These freeze periods allow the university time to identify existing vacanciesand time for the residence hall student population to stabilize. When the freeze period is over, two days are set aside for students to move free of charge. No physical changes can be made until final approval is given by the Residence Director involved.

Each person moving must:

  • Complete a room change form and change of address card.
  • Complete and turn in a “Responsibility for Room Condition” form for the old room and a “Check-in” form for the new room, obtain the key for the new room, clean previous room, and return key to RD.
  • Delete personal AUDIX message and change password back to thecurrent year.
  • Amend cable address if on Premium Service from Cox Cable.

Room changes at undesignated times will be permitted ONLY when the Residence Director determines that the roommates have made a serious attempt to adjust to each other and found that they cannot resolve their differences. In these cases, each student moving will be assessed a processing charge of $25. Illegal moves will result in an additional fine.

Residents have 24 hours to complete the room change process once the new room assignment is provided.

Please Remember:

No room/hall/apt. change may occur until written approval from the Residence Director has been obtained. Changes occuring without the written approval of the RD or after the advertised date will result in a room change fee being assessed.

* Please Note - Room change requests will be processed according to the date the request is received by the Office of Housing andDining Services. You will retain your current residence hall assignment until a room change is granted.

ALL ROOM CHANGES, ONCE GRANTED, ARE FINAL. If you no longer wish to change rooms, please notify this office before the change is granted.

Due to the number of room change requests received, the Office of Housing and Dining may limit the number for each student to one room change per semester. Please submit only one request for any given semester.

If submitting a second/duplicate request or requesting substantial changes to your original request, your room change priority date may be affected.
