:: Tulsa Journal Of Comparative & International Law ::

The benefits of membership on the Journal are both immediate and long-lasting. Many of the Journal's alumni have gone on to assume leading roles in the international legal community. Employers take note of Journal membership and many law firms, both international and domestic, and target members of the Journal specifically.

Successful completion of three credit hours on the Tulsa Journal of Comparative & International Law can fulfill your seminar requirement towards graduation.  You can also improve your familiarity with The Bluebook, which is the de facto standard method of citation for law firms and courts across the country.  In addition, by serving on the Journal you will improve your legal writing and analysis—skills which will make you a better lawyer.

To become a candidate, you must have at least 20 credit hours before your candidacy semester.  Students who have obtained a 3.2 cumulative GPA or higher may grade-on, while those with a 2.5 cumulative GPA or greater are eligible for the write-on competition.

Candidates write a 40-page paper of publishable quality on their topic of choice. To be considered for publication in a Journal issue, the paper must be on an international and comparative law topic. Also, candidates must complete at least one hour in the office per week; candidates may choose any hour to fulfill this requirement.

After successful completion of candidacy, candidates become staff members. Staff members are responsible for subciting, galley sessions, and general office operations. Staff members are eligible for election to editor positions as they open.
