Meeting Minutes for

Friday, April 12, 2002

This last Friday (4/12/02), we had our final dinner of the year. During the dinner, we addressed a number of topics for next year. They are as follows:

Election of Officers for next year:

President: Jessica Monachello
V.P.: Michelle Perez
Secretary/Treasurer: Paige Hessen

Next Meeting:

Date: Wednesday 4/17/02 at 3pm
The meeting will be to discuss the budget for next year.

Suggestions for Fundraising/Events for next year:

Sponsors: Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Attorneys in the area, etc…

Events: -Pan-American Round Table (dance group)

-Speaking to High School students in the area (Kathy has made contact with the Tulsa
Public Schools who have requested that everything be in writing. She has sent the necessary
paperwork and we are now waiting to hear back from them.)

-Possible outings: go-carts, skating, bowling, or zoo trips

Fundraising:
Creating T-shirts that advertise companies (such as Westlaw/Lexis)who have given a donation of $100.

Raffle off a dinner for two, movie tickets, or gift certificate to the bookstore.

Please feel free to email your suggestions regarding fundraising and events or any other ideas you may have. Any suggestion will help us in planning the budget for next year! If you don't like email, bring your ideas to the meeting this Wednesday!

Other Matters:

We will apply with the Hispanic Bar Association for next year. A cost of $50 dollars will be one of the first things to come out of next year's budget. By being a part of the Association we will be able to have access to newsletters, scholarships, suggestions for fundraising and events, etc.

We are going to try to write letters/postcards to incoming Hispanic students who may be interested in getting involved with the club next year.

Please don't forget Wednesday's meeting at 3pm!

Lastly, I am sad to inform everyone that our President, Kathy, will not be with us next year. Although we are sad to see her go, we want to wish her the best in D.C. and to say thank you for keeping us going throughout this semester. WE will miss you Kathy!
