Hispanic Law Student Association (UTULSA)

Minutes from Wednesday, March 27, 2002:

Topics:

SBA Funding:

SBA has given us $200 dollars to finish the school year.  However, after costs for our speaker last week, we are down to $150.  Also, we will be using an additional 50 dollars to get us back in good standing with the National Hispanic Bar Association.  So, we will end up with $100 plus member dues.

Membership Dues:

Anyone who has not paid membership dues should pay $10 to Emily Tucker at the front office.  If you are writing a check make it out to “HLSA” and give it to either Jessica or leave it at the front office with Emily.

Speaker Luncheon Series:

For those of you who were unable to attend the luncheon on Telecommunication law last week, we had a great turn out!  We still need to secure 2 more speakers for April.  Bruce is currently checking with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.  If anyone knows of someone who would be willing to speak in April, please let me or Kathy know as soon as you can so that we can get it put on the calendar.

Fundraising or Finals Mixer:

We have decided that it was too late in the year to plan a fundraiser and instead of the final mixer have decided to do a final get together dinner.  The dinner is scheduled for Friday, April 12th.  We will let you know the time and place.  If you know of any good Mexican (mom and pop places) that sell sopapillas please let us know!!!  I spoke with a friend from Tulsa's mexican community and she recommended Costa Azul out on Mingo and Garnett.  Has anyone heard fo this place?

At the dinner we will elect new officers and discuss events and fundraising for the 2003-2004 school year.

Website:

We will have the website up and running soon.  I have included the link for you to look at.  If you have any ideas or suggestions, please email me or Kathy.

Any Other Business:

Kathy spoke with the Tulsa School District about us going and speaking to Hispanic students.  Currently, we are waiting to hear back on the matter.

Regards!
