Policies and Procedures

This email reference service is available only to current students, faculty, and staff of The University of Tulsa. Questions received through email are generally answered within 24 hours on weekdays; reference emails do not receive responses on weekends or holidays. The answers to many questions may be found on the Library's FAQ.

Questions should require short, specific answers, for example:

  • To get information on library services and facilities.
  • To verify bibliographic citation information.
  • To request addresses/phone numbers/websites for companies, institutions, associations, or government agencies.
  • To locate factual information, such as simple statistics or biographical information.
  • To ask for basic guidance concerning research on a specific topic.
  • To seek assistance in accessing library databases.
