Collection Inventory

 2003.022.1.1 Pocket notebook 1915 November 27 - 1916 July 24   15.1 x 9.2 x 1.3 cm Pocket-sized notebook, 138 pages, with tan-colored buckram cover and brown trim with a loop for a pencil; "Notes" is stamped in red on front cover; inside are patterned endpapers with a text block of .5 x.5 cm graph paper, and a half-pocket inside back cover. Handwritten notes are in pencil.

Scope and Contents note

Handwritten journal entries, in German. Last half-dozen pages contain columns of figures, and non-journal like entries. Last two pages consist of a long passage, at top of the last page are the words "Liebe Kameraden".

Scope and Contents note

Man pictured in dress uniform and cap, standing facing the camera. Presumably Schreiner Reinhold Rott. The photo is inscribed in German on verso. Recognisable words include "Reinhold Rott" and "Memmingen!".

Group photo taken outdoors, featuring adult men, some of them in dress uniform, and women in hats. Banners can be seen above the group bearing the name of Rottach, an area near Lake Tegernsee.

Scope and Contents note

Group photo featuring military men in uniform, many holding either a variety of instruments or beer steins. One man holds up a plaque, part of which reads "1914 Who knows whether we meet again...." An "X" is marked over the head of one man, presumably Schreiner Reinhold Rott.

 2003.022.1.8 Sterbeurkunde (death certificate) 1953 January 21   20.9 x 14.7 cm Standard printed form, an official copy of a death certificate, completed by typewriter. Officially stamped and signed by the Memmingen registrar.

Death certificate notes: Schreiner Reinhold Rott's birth date (14 October 1884 in Rochlitz/Sachsen); Rott's death date (4 July 1918 in Tegernsee, Bezirksamt Miesbach); Rott's wife, Anna Rott nee Muller.
