Biographical/Historical note
The 3rd Battle of Ypres was launched on 31 July 1917 by the Allies, and was hoped by Sir General Douglas Haig that this would serve as his breakout. It lasted until the conclusion of the Battle of Passchendaele.
Scope and Contents note
88 aerial photographs printed by No. 2 Advanced Section, Army Printing & Stationery Services, most bearing location codes and time of day, mostly taken of the Ypres region.
