Computer Labs

Information Services supports four main computer labs: two general purpose labs and two reserved for academic instruction. The main student labs are located on the plaza level at the Northeast end of the building in McFarlin Library. The instructional labs are located one floor above the main labs.

The public labs include PC computers with CD/DVD-RW drives. All computers are connected to the University network and can be used to access personal disk space. In addition, a multimedia PC with a scanner and special software is available for use.

Additional labs are located in various buildings on campus. Access on the computers may vary by class/college.

Labs for Academic Instruction

There are two new technology classrooms in the Pauline Walter Academic Technology Center of the McFarlin Library. The classrooms are located upstairs from the public labs. Their purpose is for advancing the use of curricula and information technologies in the classroom. The classrooms are used often for WebCT and internet testing.

The iClassrooms hosts thirty students and one teaching computer connected to a high speed network. Software installs include Microsoft Office, FrontPage, as well as the selected internet browsers. The classrooms also include a conference phone for class conferencing.

Faculty who are wishing to schedule the facility should contact Janet Cairns (631-3101, jcairns@utulsa.edu) in the Faculty Resource Center.
