The University of Tulsa has adopted a new notification system that utilizes text messaging to allow TU to immediately distribute urgent messages in the event of an emergency.

Dear Campus Community,

The University of Tulsa has adopted a new notification system that utilizes text messaging to allow TU to immediately distribute urgent messages in the event of an emergency.

In addition to the text messages, this system will integrate with existing and planned campus notification methods, including emails, Web alerts and loudspeaker announcements. The system is designed to instantly keep you informed and safe about emergency situations that impact our campus.

However, this system is only effective if you register for it.

Registration for this service is now available. I encourage each of you to take a few moments to complete the quick registration process via the “Emergency Contact Registration” link under "Other TU Services" on the MyTU homepage, http://www.mytu.utulsa.edu/.

As an additional incentive, those registering for this service by Nov. 1 will be entered into a drawing for three iPod Classics, one each for each drawing among students, faculty and staff.

Your safety is of utmost importance to us. Please take advantage of this new system and the additional communication tools it provides. For questions about the system, please contact the Help Desk at (918) 631-3500.

Regards,

Steadman Upham,
President
