Construction Impact

Roxana Rozsa and Robert Eugene Lorton Performance Center

The Roxana Rozsa and Robert Eugene Lorton Performance Center, located on Gary Place on the east end of Harwell Field, will be TU's showcase facility for the musical and performance arts when completed in spring 2011.

Traffic Impact

Periodically throughout construction, Gary Place between 5th Place and 7th Street will need to be closed to accommodate construction needs. Foot traffic along the sidewalk on the east side of Gary Place should remain open throughout.

J. Newton Rayzor Hall & Samson Plaza

The future home to TU’s computer science and electrical engineering programs will be located in J. Newton Rayzor Hall, which is being constructed adjacent to Keplinger Hall. In conjunction with this project, Samson Plaza will be constructed as a 1.5-acre plaza connecting Keplinger Hall, J. Newton Rayzor Hall, and the planned Stephenson Hall, which will house the petroleum and mechanical engineering programs. Construction plans and schedule for Stephenson Hall are still being finalized.

Traffic Impact

Gary Avenue between 4th Place between 5th Place was permanently closed starting in July 2010.

With the closure of Gary Avenue, the campus shuttles will serve ACAC from the west side along Florence Avenue or on 5th Place along Sorority Row. Shuttles will service Keplinger from the east side along Gary Place.

Pedestrians exiting the east side of the Allen Chapman Activity Center and the west side of Keplinger Hall will be routed north and south around the construction area.

Two parking lots closed in July to accommodate construction: the gravel lot immediately south of Keplinger and the eastern most section of the ACAC parking lot.

John Rogers Hall - Renovation

A major renovation of John Rogers Hall is planned to remove asbestos from the building as well as allow for future renovation. A construction date has not yet been set for this project.
