A common definition of public relations: the management function that identifies, establishes, and maintains mutually beneficial relationships between an organization and the various publics on whom it depends for success.
Who are our publics?
The University of Tulsa has a wide variety of important publics including prospective students, parents, alumni, donors, the community, and the news media. Internally, UNIR's publics include students, faculty, and staff.
How do we do it?
UNIR has a variety of communication tools to reach our various publics, including The University of Tulsa Magazine, an award-winning magazine for alumni and friends; a variety of targeted publications, including magazines, newsletters, and brochures for TU's colleges and academic support units; comprehensive news and marketing services for all campus clients, including news releases and other media vehicles; as well as the University Web site.
