Writing for the Web
Writing for the web is different than writing for academic, news or print publications.
Readers tend to scan web content rather than read each word. They also tend to read more slowly online.
To help your readers;
- keep writing concise, clear, and friendly
- cut the word count
- use sub-headings
- lists
- limit text to one idea per paragraph
- avoid jargon or acronyms
Always make sure you proofread multiple times and edit your content as appropriate.
