Administrative/Professional HYDRATE FLOW LOOP SIMULATION/OPERATION ENGINEER- RESEARCH Dept:  RESEARCH AND SPONSORED PROGRAMS   Posted:  01/05/2009 Position Summary The Hydrate Flow Loop Simulation/Operation (60/40) engineer will be responsible for the development of a flow loop simulator and will assist in experimental research activities and the operation of the hydrate facility to collect and process experimental data. Specific responsibilities require using PVTsim open structure to develop a flow loop simulator using Visual Basic; operating, trouble shooting and maintaining a high pressure research facility, processing research data and documentation; and presentations to member companies. Minimum Qualifications The candidate should have an advanced degree in engineering or a closely related subject; a M.Sc. degree in computer science being highly preferred; and five or more years of combined experience in the oil industry, academia and/or government agencies related to simulation and modeling. Demonstrated knowledge/experience in computer programming using computer languages such as FORTRAN 77/90, VBA, C/C++. Familiar with operating systems such as windows, Linux and UNIX. Prior experience with PVTsim, black oil or compositional models and with pilot unit operation a plus. Hours 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; some swing shift may be required during testing.
