Technical/Paraprofessional HYDRATE FLOW LOOP OPERATOR/TECHNICIAN- RESEARCH AND SPONSORED PROGRAMS Dept:  RESEARCH AND SPONSORED PROGRAMS   Posted:  01/05/2009 Position Summary The Hydrate Flow Loop Operator/Technician will assist in experimental research activities and the operation of the hydrate test facility to collect and process experimental data. Specific responsibilities include setting up research experiments; operating the test facility keeping logs of data; troubleshooting and maintaining a high pressure research facility, including control systems and instrumentation; supporting graduate students with experimental research projects; and maintaining an adequate inventory of consumables and spare parts to ensure normal uninterrupted use of facilities. Minimum Qualifications Two the five years work experience; experience in maintenance of pumps, compressors and control valves in a high pressure environment; capable of developing operating procedures; ability to work independently without close supervision; demonstrated safe working practices in compliance with OSHA and EPA requirements; ability to work with a diverse group of faculty, students and staff; excellent verbal and written communication skills; and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, and Excel. Hours 8:00 to 5:00, Monday through Friday; some swing shift may be required during testing and some overtime may be required.
