Maintenance/Building Services
Building services provides skilled craftsmen for routine and emergency maintenance in the following categories:
- Carpenters perform all aspects of carpentry work, glass installation, furniture repair, tile and carpet repair, and masonry repair.
- Painters perform painting tasks on both interior and exterior surfaces of campus buildings.
- Locksmiths perform tasks in all areas of lock repair, door hardware, and security alarm systems.
- Roofers maintain and repair flat and sloped roofs, guttering, and downspouts. They also apply and maintain waterproofing membranes of building exteriors.
- Plumbers service and maintain all plumbing fixtures, domestic water lines, outdoor fountains, and natural gas lines.
- Electricians provide maintenance of electrical motors, lighting systems, and related circuitry. They also replace light bulbs.
- HVAC engineers provide installation, maintenance, operation, and repair of refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, and heating equipment. They also maintain and operate the university’s central heating/cooling plant and service the associated underground piping system as well as distribution pumps.
