It
has been said that colleges teach while universities both teach and
learn. The learning dimension is essential to our role as a university,
and is accomplished through research and the pursuit of scholarship.
The University of Tulsa is committed to the encouragement and
support of its faculty in this pursuit.
• The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs helps faculty
obtain external funding from federal and state agencies and private
industry, and also supports both faculty and students through the
Faculty and Student Research Grant Programs. These programs sometimes
provide faculty with seed money for larger projects and place students
in a rich and challenging environment.
• The Office of Development assists in obtaining other types of
external funding, including capital projects and program developments.
Each
request for external funding to support University research requires
administrative approval through the individual's Department, Dean's
Office, and the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs. Take advantage of the facilities and services of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs. Their staff is here to help you advance your research agenda.
