Debbie Newton receives NCURA Distinguished Service Award

The National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA) has chosen Debbie Newton, senior associate director of research and sponsored programs at The University of Tulsa, to receive its 2009 Region V Distinguished Service Award for providing exemplary service.

The NCURA award recognizes the most outstanding representative who offers exceptional service to his or her profession over a lifetime. Region V covers more than 500 members in Oklahoma and Texas.

“The contributions and ability of members like Debbie contribute to and support the growth of others in the profession and are recognized with this award,” said Scott Erwin, chair of the NCURA region V awards committee.

NCURA is a 7,000 member professional society dedicated to advancing the field of research administration through education and professional development programs, the sharing of knowledge and experience, and by fostering a professional, collegial, and respected community.
