Faculty Publication and Juried Exhibition Costs
Although research and publication are among the professional responsibilities of the faculty of The University of Tulsa, the University recognizes that in some instances the cost of publication may constitute an excessive burden, particularly upon young faculty members. In order to lessen this burden and to encourage research and publication, the University will consider requests for up to $4,000 for subventions of books (not textbooks), and up to $2,000 for submission fees, page costs, or other special costs associated with juried exhibitions and publication of scholarly refereed articles. The Department Chair, the Collegiate Dean, and the Vice President for Research will review these requests and, subject to the availability of funds, will support work of high quality. Reader's comments from the press or the journal should be submitted with the application for funds. Reprints are not publication costs and therefore will not be supported.
For details concerning applications for assistance with publication costs, see Faculty Publication, Juried Exhibition, and Subvention Costs guidelines.
