Bluelight Phones
The University of Tulsa has installed outdoor emergency phones on campus, bolted on poles in weatherproof boxes. The phone boxes are marked by signs and by distinctive blue lights, so they are visible 24 hours a day.
If you need emergency assistance, simply open the door on the box and lift receiver and the operator will answer and will instantly know your location. Talk into the receiver and state your emergency and a security officer will be dispatched to your location.
Emergency Tips
During an emergency:
- Remain as calm as possible
- Mentally estimate the suspect's height, weight, and age
- Remember identifiable characteristics, such as facial features, hair, etc.
- Listen to speech for special characteristics
- Note type and color of clothing
- Look for peculiarities such as tattoos and scars
- Notify security or the police immediately
- Stay near the telephone until help arrives
