In order to heighten awareness on campus, each day the Campus Crime Watch is uploaded onto this site. Incidents are listed in chronological order with the most recent events first. If you have any information regarding any of these incidents, please contact Security at ext. 5555. For purposes of reporting accuracy and timeliness, a day is specified as 12:01am to 12:00am.

03:00 P.M. – Security took a report from ABCO Rents concerning a missing bistro table from an event that they had set up at Brown Village. A copy of this report will be forwarded to Housing Officials for their review.

07:50 P.M. – A student reported to security that their TU issued bicycle was stolen while it was chained up at a University Square West apartment bicycle rack. A copy of this report will be forwarded to Housing Officials for their review,

02:15 A.M. – Security was dispatched to the west side of Lafortune Hall in reference to a loud intoxicated individual. The intoxicated person was identified as a non student and was arrested on an outstanding warrant and for public intoxication.

07:35 P.M. – A student reported to security that their vehicle was broken into while it was parked at a University Square Apartments South Lot. A copy of this report will be forwarded to Housing Officials for their review,

August 24, 2008

August 24, 2008

12:10 A.M. – Security responded to the second floor restroom of John Mabee Hall in reference to a student being passed out. The student smelled strongly of alcohol and had been vomiting. EMSA transported the student to the hospital for observation and treatment. A copy of this report will be forwarded to Housing and Student Affairs Officials for their review.

08:25 P.M. – Security confiscated an unlocked, unattended TU Bike that was left in the front of the Wesley Foundation building.

August 23, 2008

August 23, 2008

07:00 A.M. – Security responded to the southwest entrance of Twin South Hall in reference to a student being passed out. Student appeared to be under the influence of an intoxicating substance. Student was revived by emergency personnel and taken back to his room. Housing Officials checked on the student’s welfare periodically during the next couple of hours. A copy of this report will be forwarded to Housing and Student Affairs Officials for their review.

August 21, 2008

August 21, 2008

11:00 A.M. – Security took a report from a resident of University Square Apts. West concerning noise complaints emanating from a nearby resident. The resident reported that he contacted Housing Officials concerning the party. The party resulted in bottles being thrown from an apartment hitting his vehicle and breaking in the parking lot. The complainant reported that he believed the party was organized by an established organization on campus. A copy of this report will be forwarded to Housing and Student Affairs Officials for their review.

12:50 P.M. – Security removed two bicycles from the Mary K. Chapman Center that were obstructing access to the handicap ramp leading into the building.

11:00 A.M. – Security towed a vehicle that had struck a curb on the center median near the entrance to University Square Apartments West. The car was obstructing traffic and was left unattended and disabled. A copy of this report will be forwarded to Housing Officials for their review.

Definitions

Aggravated Assault
An unlawful attack by one person upon another for the purpose of inflicting severe or aggravated bodily injury. This type of assault usually is accompanied by the use of a weapon or by means likely to produce death or great bodily harm. Simple assaults are excluded.
Arson
Any willful or malicious burning or attempt to burn, with or without intent to defraud, a dwelling house, public building, motor vehicle or aircraft, personal property of another, etc.
Burglary
The unlawful entry into a building or other structure with the intent to commit a felony or a theft.
Drug Violations
Violations of state or local laws relating to the unlawful possession, sale, use, growing, manufacturing, and making of narcotic drugs.
Forcible Sex Offenses
Any sexual act directed against another person, forcibly and/or against that person’s will; or not forcibly or against the person’s will where the victim is incapable of giving consent.
Hate Crimes
A crime against a person or property motivated by bias toward race, religion, ethnicity/national origin, disability, or sexual orientation.
Liquor Violations
The violations of laws or ordinances prohibiting the manufacture, sale, transporting, furnishing, possessing of intoxicating liquor. (Drunkenness and driving under the influence are not included in this definition.)
Motor Vehicle Theft
The theft or attempted theft of a motor vehicle. Motorboats, construction equipment, airplanes, and farming equipment are specifically excluded from this category.
Murder/Non-negligent Manslaughter
The willful (non-negligent) killing of one human being by another.
Negligent Manslaughter
The killing of another person through gross negligence.
Robbery
The taking or attempting to take anything of value from the care, custody, or control of a person or persons by force or threat of force or violence and/or by putting the victim in fear.
Weapons Violations
The violation of laws or ordinances dealing with weapon offenses, regulatory, in nature, such as: manufacture, sale, or possession of deadly weapons; carrying deadly weapons, concealed or openly; furnishing deadly weapons to minors; aliens possessing deadly weapons; and or attempts to commit any of the aforementioned.
