Church Relations
The Westminster Society comprises of four programs that together provide a comprehensive Presbyterian
campus-based ministry.
- The Presbyterian Leadership Scholarship
- The Presbyterian Leadership Program
- Westminster Campus Fellowship
The Presbyterian Leadership Scholarship
The Presbyterian Leadership Scholarship recognizes scholastic excellence and leadership among incoming
TU students by providing a total of $24,000 in scholarship support over four years. Scholarship designees
must be active members of a Presbyterian congregation who meet TU admission eligibility criteria and
represent the top 10 percent of their high school graduating class. Scholarship recipients participate
in the Presbyterian Leadership Program.
The Westminster Headers and Scholars Program of Leadership
The Westminster Headers and Scholars Program brings students together to live their faith
through fellowship meetings, leadership development experiences, service projects, and missions
work. Weekly meetings led by the student leaders and the program director give participants an ongoing
forum for sharing, learning, and growing. Participants design and execute leadership initiatives,
including ongoing mission work. Travel also is a key part of the program, with a bi-annual trip to
Scotland to explore the roots of the Presbyterian Church.
Westminster Campus Fellowship
Westminster Campus Fellowship extends programming to the entire university community,
including Presbyterian students, faculty and staff, as well as members of other TU faith groups. Fellowship
gatherings under the direction of the Westminster Society coordinator give participants an opportunity to
socialize in a relaxed, supportive environment that includes speakers, readings and music, in addition to
refreshments or a meal. Meetings specifically for the Presbyterian student community alternate with the
larger campus wide meetings, which are ecumenical in nature. From the firm foundation of our Presbyterian
heritage, we celebrate the fact that the TU spiritual community includes people of all ages, backgrounds,
and faiths. The fellowship revolves around ChapelTU, a weekly praise and worship service that is student
led. The fellowship also offer bible studies, book studies, theological discussion groups, and spirtual
retreats.
