Palimpsest
Cristina Dascalu
It
is another day another viable way of looking at this
It is up to you to label what is going on in between us
A triumph a plausible story
A slope of emotions a staggering thought
A lenient touch an unconceivable reunion
Something or nothing at all an emulation
Of our readings a lower reading of fate
A farfetched game with reality
An enamel on the cup of eloquence
Or a speechless act of salvation
A desperate one of you and I
And contemplative Us
A continuity of dawn a dizzy
Escape a venturesome adventure
I don’t care how you see Us
Drawing the lines with precision
I must tell you I already had
The heavy draughtsman’s board in my hand
My friend, your departures and arrivals
A redundancy of bored mornings and
Fast evenings are not your fabrication
The lines were there before you started drawing them
Wherever you turn, whatever you do
Everything is nothing more nothing less than a palimpsest
