Recent TU College of Law graduate Sara M. Schmook (’12) talks about how she made the decision to open her own firm after law school.

After graduation and the grueling journey through bar preparation and the Oklahoma bar exam I found that I was more exhausted than I had been while juggling my responsibilities during law school.  Ironically, I also realized that I was unsatisfied by 8 to 10 hours of daily focus on the sole agenda of passing the bar.  I actually missed my hectic schedule.  That epiphany and the lack of job opportunities available in the current economic market led me to the decision to open my own law firm.

Recent TU College of Law graduate Matt Day (’12) talks about how he and fellow grad Isaiah Parsons (’12) made their dream of opening their own firm after law school a reality.

The last year of my life has been the most stressful and exciting year of my entire life.   Isaiah and I began discussing opening our own firm in December of 2011.  We set a February 1st deadline for deciding if we would hang our own shingle or try to find an employer.  On February 1, 2012, we were in Basic Corp as Professor Arnold spoke of partnerships we decided to form our own.
